OUR VIEWS
Greater Manchester has 10 Licensing Authorities,
Salford being one of them.
We Believe that each area should have its own Private hire Association and each Association runs it as it sees fit.
We need as many members in the C.S.P.H.A. as possible because the more members we have the stronger we become. We believe that many members gives us bargaining power when trying to negotiate with companies, for discounts etc. It also tells Councillors and Licensing that they could upset many people if they made the wrong decision about an issue, Councillors need votes!!
We want Salford to be one of the biggest Associations in Greater Manchester, so we can have a voice and be heard. 200 Members and we can be laughed at, 2000 and we will be listened to.
Our next aim is to achieve membership for ALL salford private hire drivers.

Eventually we will affilliate with the other 9 areas within Greater Manchester. Estimated drivers today in Greater Manchester is 15000. Thats not just a voice that is a ROAR.
Theoretically , you could have 1 or 2 committee members from each Association and form a Greater Manchester Association, who will deal with the much bigger picture.
We have already affilliated with Wigan Borough Private Hire & Hackney Association and have a very good relationship with Manchester Private Hire Association.
